OUR MISSION

The Dubuque Area Arts Collective is a community organization that facilitates young artists' creative development by providing instructive, performance, and leadership opportunities in preparation for careers in the arts industry. Our main goals are to raise the profile of young emerging artists in Dubuque, to motivate them to pursue their creative interests, to encourage them to gain experience through volunteer work, to strengthen their skills through free tutoring and workshops, and to enable them to participate in the community's art affairs.

Call for High School Musicians

Deadline: February 1, 2016

The DAAC Music Series, an affiliate of the Dubuque Area Arts Collective, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is accepting applicants for Project 1, a music mentoring program for high school students. Project 1 is intended for students with some musical background and an interest in group performance and songwriting.

EVENTS:

The Dark Slide: Skate Art Show
Open through January 31
Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4pm
$5-$10 Suggested donation at reception

Regional, national, and international artists will present their artistic creations, rendered on skateboard decks. Functioning as a canvas for street art for decades, the Skate Art Show highlights the art of the skateboard deck and skateboarding culture.

Call for Submissions: Feature Articles on the arts

Content Due By: February 10, 2016

Grain Magazine is soliciting contributing writers to educate and inform the local and regional community about its dynamic and wide-ranging art scene. Final Submissions may be in the form of essays and opinion pieces, interviews, (artist, gallery, organization) features, or any other format that highlights the arts in Dubuque and the area (within 200 miles of Dubuque).
